Job Purpose

EX2- Strategic Contract Analyst 

 

American Honda Finance Corporation is currently seeking a Strategic Contract Analyst for our Procurement & Contract division.   

 

This role is accountable for the development and negotiation of strategic contracts for partnership and operating agreements in a financial and insurance services environment.  The Strategic Contract Analyst supports AHFC by facilitating the evaluation process for potential strategic business partners.  This process includes conducting a multi-stakeholder decision analysis for partner selection that best meets AHFC’s requirements.  Once a partner is selected, the Contract Analyst manages the contracting process by reviewing contracts documents with stakeholders for input and conducting negotiations to obtain a favorable outcome.  This position also supports the review and negotiation of general operating agreements.  Overall, the analyst is responsible for contracts lifecycle management, including, but not limited to amendments, renewals, and terminations
 

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities included but not limited to: 

 

  • Accountable for cross-functional sourcing strategies and contracting projects to ensure partner selection and deliverables.  Supporting up to 20 projects/contracting events 
  • Accountable for contract life cycle management, including monitoring and negotiating renewals
  • Responsible for supporting compliance management and legal matters 
  • Responsible for supporting special projects and initiatives, including audits 
     

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

We’re seeking candidates with the following qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, law or related field, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.  A master’s degree is preferred 
  • 3-5 years of experience in contracts analysis, strategic sourcing, and negotiation
  • Preferably the candidates experience will be in banking, finance, or insurance services including exposure to compliance and regulatory provisions common to the industries 


Other Job Skills seeking 

 

  • Strong negotiation skills, as well as excellent communication and presentation abilities are required.  Project management education or experience is beneficial.  
  • Proficiency in MS application such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential 
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Ariba, SAP, or other significant ERP systems preferred.  
  • Experience with MS Project, Visio or similar programs is desired 

 

Additional Position Factors

  • Grade Salary Base: $72,200-$108,300

Pay will be based on several variables that include, but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, etc.

  • Workstyle: Hybrid (Remote 1 day in the Torrance office required) 
  • 5% travel
