Job Purpose

  • The Service Technical IT Applications unit is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented and customer focused Business System Sr. Analyst aligning with the Sales Applications strategic direction, and IT support and delivery standards. 
  • The Business System Sr. Analyst’s role is to elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of stakeholders. This includes leading stakeholders interviews, gathering and compiling user requirements to understand the technology solutions and data they need. The Business System Sr. Analyst will facilitate and guide the team with strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help the business make good technology decisions. The Business System Sr. Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring IT’s understanding of business requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with project managers/team managers and business sponsors to determine scope, vision, business objectives, and benefits. Functions as a Lead Business System Sr. Analyst on medium to large application development projects.
  • Lead and conduct interviews to gather user requirements, use cases, and scenarios. Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, and comprehensibility. Work with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements. Where applicable, develop prototypes of interfaces and attributes based on the user requirements. Develop and conduct peer reviews of the business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted. Well versed in working with outside vendors on SaaS packages.
  • Lead and coordinate cross functional teams to translate user requirement into functional specification/requirement for developers/project team. Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
  • Create systems specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to system programmers. Where applicable, propose and help drive business processes, perform analysis of existing applications and access impact of the change to the current system processes and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including creating test cases/scenarios, end-user reviews, for modified and new systems. Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.




Qualifications, Experience, and Skills


  • Information Systems (IS) / IT / Computer Sciences related Bachelor Degree and/or equivalent work experience

Minimum experience:

  • 5 - 7 years of relevant IT technical or business work experience.
  • 5 - 7 years of working as a Business System Analyst on mid to large application development projects.
  • Industry experience: In the Automotive After-Sales Service Applications.
  • Requirements elicitation: Drive consensus for a desired future state that meets the business problem and enterprise objectives.  Uncover needs business partners and end users would not be able to articulate on their own. 
    Assists the project manager in preparing and facilitating the project plan for smaller projects as needed.
  • Requirements management and analysis – Understand business process complexity and influence business partner requirements in support of enterprise objectives.
  • Create compelling business cases – Quickly adapt to changes in business strategy and helps business partners communicate solution value to key stakeholders.
  •  Provide accurate project effort estimates – Recognize the implications of business strategy changes and effectively engages projects stakeholders in the estimation process.
  • Architecture management – Guide solution options and business partner decision making to minimize the amount of project investment divergence from target architecture.  Identify opportunities for creating reusable enterprise services and can guide and manage interactions with technology vendors.
  • Designing for usability – Identify the requirements to ensure end-to-end service performance from the end user’s perspective.  Gain business sponsor commitment for additional resources requirement to ensure usability.
  • Communication and change leadership – Effectively engage key knowledge workers and business sponsors in change management activities.
  • Business relationship management – Influence business partner decision making to optimize requirements prioritization.  Build long-term relationships between multiple business partners to drive IT strategy engagement.
  • Design team relationship management – Educate developers on a project’s business context and effectively collaborate with geographically distributed teams.
