Job Purpose

The Manager of Field Planning and Research will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of comprehensive research and field planning initiatives to support the company's growth goals. This person will play a critical role in ensuring that the field operations team has the information, tools, and support they need to deliver high-quality products and services to customers.

 

What are the key responsibilities of this position:

  • Develop and lead the implementation of field research programs to support the company's growth goals in service retention, customer satisfaction, parts and accessory sales, VSC market penetration.
  • Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to inform field planning decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas of opportunity and develop plans to drive growth.
  • Manage and mentor a team of field planning and research professionals.
  • Communicate research findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Implement best practices in field research and planning processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Facilitate CAPDo process and reporting at National I Zone I District levels.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing and monitoring research methodologies and data collection processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in field planning and research.

Key Accountabilities

  • Driving growth: The Manager of Field Planning and Research will play a critical role in supporting the company's growth goals by conducting research and field planning initiatives to identify new opportunities and support the efficient and effective operations of the field team.
  • Improving efficiency and effectiveness: The Manager will work to ensure that the field operations team has the information, tools, and support they need to deliver high-quality products and services to customers. By implementing best practices in field research and planning, the Manager will aim to improve efficiencies and effectiveness in the field.
  • Enhancing data quality and integrity: The Manager will be responsible for ensuring data quality and integrity by implementing and monitoring research methodologies and data collection processes. This will help the company make informed decisions based on accurate data and insights.
  • Staying competitive: The Manager will stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in field planning and research to ensure that the company remains competitive and able to meet the evolving needs of customers and the market.
  • Building and leading a strong team: The Manager will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of field planning and research professionals. The objective will be to build a strong, high-performing team that delivers results and contributes to the success of the company.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent job-related experience    
  • 10+ years of experience in field operations, with at least 5 years of management experience
  • 12 years auto industry experience with a mix of dealer retail and corporate experience
  • Strong understanding of the company objectives and goals, internal processes, and operation of the AHM Parts & Service Division groups
  • Experience in working with dealers to implement process improvements, and coaching field personnel to develop effective action plans
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience with market research, data analysis, and statistical techniques
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Strong knowledge of personal computer software (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
