Job Purpose

Financial Analyst- Residual Value – EX2

 

American Honda Finance Corporation is currently seeking a Financial Analyst-Residual Value for our Corporate office in Torrance, CA.   


Provide accurate and timely estimates and support used for financial reporting in areas related to credit loss and residual value loss for AHFC & HCFI CFS/DFS portfolios.  Develop, enhance, and maintain financial models and assumption updates/enhancements under USGAAP and IFRS reporting standards.  Responsible for administration of HCFI credit loss model and communication to the Company’s Credit Loss & Residual Value Loss Committees in response to changing business conditions, regulatory environment, and accounting policies
 

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities include but not limited to: 

 

  • Process/validate accounting valuation models (Residual Value Balloon, Retail and Balloon Repossessions 
  • Support department analysts in model enhancement, processing data extracts, processing planning forecast models and maintaining dept. databases. 
  • Perform analytics on AHFC auction return rates, residual values, scheduled maturities vehicle recalls and assessments 
  • Support department Senior Analysts to prepare residual value/operating lease related quarterly analytics 
  • Perform analytics on quarterly balance sheet and income statement financial statements
  • Provide data analytics and support explanations for internal SOX and external KPMG audit
  • Provide support to HCFI residual value loss committee, AHFC Corporate Planning and Analysis departments.   
  • Provide system support, testing and validation on department projects and initiatives 
     

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Who are we seeking:

 

  • BA/BS degree required from a major university with emphasis on Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics  
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in financial analysis and accounting 
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office suite (Access, Excel, Work, PowerPoint) and Business Objects (relational databases)
  • Knowledge of consumer credit performance metrics, used car market, Honda/Acura products, macro-economic indicators, SOX controls, and external audit processes

 

Other Job Specific Skills:

 

  • Ability to work with large data sets to derive, aggregate, and calculate key performance metrics and assumptions
  • Ability to maintain financial models based on specific accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Highly detailed analytics skills to understand, interpret, and effectively communicate results of financial models
  • General knowledge of GAAP related to credit loss allowances and lease accounting
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills to effectively interface with management, co-workers, external parties, & auditors

Salary Grade Range: $72,200 to $108,300
Pay will be based on several variables that include, but not limited to geographic location, work experience, education, etc.
