Job Purpose

Supports the N.A. Region Risk Management Secretariat and the N.A. Region Compliance Secretariat, along with the Company Risk and Compliance Officers, as a member of the N.A. Region Governance, Risk, Compliance & Ethics Office, with the execution of the Governance, Risk and Confidentiality activities and initiatives at the Regional and Company level, advancing GRC activities across Honda in the N.A. Region.  This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a firm understanding of Honda Corporate Governance, Risk Management and Confidentiality policies, principles and practices within Honda, with a focus on execution of organizational and GRC&E leadership directives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Serve as Company Honda Corporate Governance (HCG) secretariat, administering Company-level HCG program and annual process including training, reporting to the Company Compliance Officer, Regional HCG Secretariat, and completing any required annual audits.
  • Serve as Company Risk Management and Confidentiality Secretariat, administering Company-level Risk Management and Confidentiality program, committee and annual process including training, monitoring Company's top risks/emerging risks items, reporting to Company Risk Management Officer, Regional Risk Management Secretariat, and completing any required annual audits.  Collaborate with key stakeholders across Company to develop and implement strategies focused on reducing the Company's overall risk exposure.  Investigate Confidentiality breaches on need-be basis.  Provide regular reporting to Company leadership.              
  • Support N.A. Region Risk and Confidentiality Secretariat in the administering/executing on design and development of Regional Risk and Confidentiality activities, policies, and initiatives to mitigate regional risk exposure and loss of confidential information. 
  • Support cross-functional work with the overall GRC&E team to progressively enhance the GRC&E programs and trainings and contribute in the achievement of Department key deliverables, targets, and execution of projects.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience

Required Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience working as part of a team on Global/Regional/Local operations to develop and execute governance, risk, compliance or confidentiality projects and strategies as direct.
  • Ability to coordinate large groups of risk or information owners across business units, divisions or departments to obtain or to share complex information
  • Prior experience working with senior organizational management.

• Demonstrated ability to act as part of a team
• Working knowledge and experience with key governance, risk and confidentiality and compliance & ethics systems within Honda
• Tactical vision with the ability to independently perform and execute complicated directives with a high degree of discretion
• Working knowledge and experience working within a traditional Honda activity or business plan to achieve measurable targets
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information to large groups of stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to apply judgment and discretion to make sound decisions in a fast-paced setting
• Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, negotiating, administrative and organizational skills
• Demonstrated experience in administering, creating and maintaining collaborative content in and from Microsoft 360 applications and environments (teams, PowerPoint, excel, word, SharePoint)
• Experience using a matter management system to log and track issues and inquiries from initiation to completion
