The Parts Pricing Department examines and sets market pricing for over 1 million part numbers (parts & accessories), which determines the sales and profit of the PS&T Division. The Parts Pricing and Policies Manager ensures the Pricing department associates analyze and review all cost changes and assigned product groups by exploring market data to ensure divisional profit targets are achieved. The Manager ensures weekly department work cues and assignments are completed/approved on time in accordance with departmental/divisional policies to coordinate with all publication schedules. Honda Motor Company is the primary source of part numbers in the parts Catalogue & Masterfile. The PNA Department's primary role is to edit & publish the Parts Catalogue and Masterfile information for local and export customer consumption.

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitor pricing procedure and approval levels and overall Executive approval of all pricing actions. Strengthen control and formalize operating procedures/standards so that it complies with general corporate guidelines and so it meets our high standards of excellence.

 

  • Strategically use pricing as a mechanism to aid in achieving and managing our profitability by creating pricing action plans that are comprehensive in approach: including target buyers profile/demographics, competitor analysis, numeric goal of new model placement, and other quantifiable and qualitative analysis. Proactive and vigilant monitoring of pricing to increase profit by establishing target product groups for analysis and actions for profit optimization

 

  • Establish and maintain Carlisle Survey #1 Pricing Policy ranking for Honda and Acura in the industry by ensuring catalog timeliness, accuracy, and efficiency – 100% on time and 100% accuracy

 

  • Establish Mass-price increase targets as directed by executive management, develop a plan to meet the targets, and implement by the deadline. Develop countermeasures and implement them during pricing analysis to minimize exposure to incorrect price setting due to miskeyed FOBs or misclassified pricing functions

 

  • Directly Supervise and develop 5 Pricing Specialists and other associates

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Educational Requirements:

 

  • BA/BS Degree: In business administration, economics, or engineering, ensuring the candidate has a solid academic foundation.
  • MBA Preferred: The candidate should have an advanced business education for a deeper understanding of business strategies and management practices.

 

Experience:

 

  • Automotive or Mechanical Parts Experience (5-6 years): Demonstrated progression in responsibilities within the automotive or mechanical parts field.
  • Business/Pricing Analyst Experience (8-10 years): Extensive experience in analyzing business data, specifically related to pricing, market trends, and profitability.
  • Field Experience (5-7 years): Practical experience in the field, potentially related to supply chain, operations, or direct interaction with parts and products.
  • Supervisory Experience (5-7 years): Leadership experience, managing teams, guiding associates, and ensuring the timely completion of tasks.

 

Technical Skills:

 

  • Microsoft Office Applications: Strong proficiency in Excel (data analysis, modeling), Access (database management), PowerPoint (presentations), and Project Planning tools (scheduling, resource allocation).
  • Data Query Tools: Experience with Access and Business Objects for analyzing large datasets and extracting relevant business insights.
  • Internet Research Ability: Strong skills in researching market trends, pricing strategies, and competitor analysis through Internet tools.

 

Core Competencies:

 

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data and draw actionable insights, particularly for pricing and market strategy development.
  • Financial Skills: Understanding of financial metrics, cost analysis, and how pricing decisions impact profitability and revenue generation.
