Job Purpose

EX2 Accountant 

 

American Honda Finance is currently seeking an Accountant for our Accounting Operations division.  This position Provides accurate reconciliations and reporting to Financial Reporting and External Auditors on Finance Receivable products, including Dealer Financing, Consumer Lease & Loans, Asset Backed Securitization transactions, Commercial Loans. AHFC Leases, and Fixed Assets. Supports month-end close and year-end close process by providing analytics on GL accounts to Financial Reporting. Research and resolve all out of balances identified in reconciliations. Provides assistance and support to the regional office associates and recommends ways to improve efficiency. Works with Business Operations to determine accounting requirements for new programs initiated by the business or changes in accounting standards for all servicing systems
 

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities will include but not limited to: 

 

  • Daily Reconciliations - Accurate and timely completion of daily GL to System reconciliations. Timely research and resolution of all out of balance conditions
  • Monthly Reconciliations - Accurate and timely completion of all monthly reconciliations including the AHFC Leases and all the bank account reconciliations for the Asset Backed Securities portfolios
  • Assists with the month-end and year-end close process. Accounting Entries - Prepare adjusting entries to adjust GL accounts to accurately reflect system balances
  • Quarterly Audit/Tax Schedules - Accurate and timely completion of all accounting schedules required monthly and quarterly
  • Represent AO in new projects by defining accounting requirements, performing System and User Acceptance Testing for new programs initiated by the business or changes in accounting standards
  • General Ledger Analytics - When performing the monthly reconciliations, analyze the GL accounts in order to detect any potential errors
     

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Qualifications: 

 

  • 4 Year BS degree in accounting from a major US university 
  • CPA a plus
  • 5-8 years of experience in accounting – dealer/lease/loan accounting preferred 
  • 1-2 Years of experience using Oracle/PeopleSoft and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)

 

Other Job Specific Skills: 

 

  • Highly proficient in Excel with the ability to utilize functions and features to support efficient financial analysis, reporting and reconciliation process 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Highly detail oriented, with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, ensure accuracy in financial data and maintain audit-ready documentation
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Able to work independently by meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Travel – 5%

EX2 Grade Salary Base: $72,200-$108,300
Pay will be based on several variables that include, but not limited to, work experience, education, etc.
