Job Purpose

Coordinates and administers a variety of programs and activities covering multiple Human Resource activities. With limited supervision of Human Resource Management or Senior Human Resource professionals, may coordinate and/or administer various aspects of the organization’s compensation, benefit, recruitment, training, organization development, and employee relations programs. The Generalist will operate in and be responsible for more than one of these areas and perform many of the same activities as professionals that specialize in these individual Human Resource functions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collect and assess data points (i.e. associate sentiment, etc.) leading to impact analysis and application countermeasures.
  • Advise and support customer in business decision analysis and implementation of effective countermeasures.
  • Coordinate the refinement and development of Honda of America Manufacturing policies and procedures.
  • Communicate company level initiatives as appropriate.
  • Provide an environment with adult learning techniques along with classroom instructional experiences.  Improve and support development of future leaders within the Plant.
  • Strategic business partner with department regarding business plan themes or initiatives that might have an associate impact.  
  • Support Honda of America Manufacturing legal team with court hearings and depositions.
  • Project management and support as assigned.
  • Advise on and coordinate regarding Exempt and Non-Exempt associates’ adherence to company policies and procedures with exit interviews, leave of absence, etc.
  • Support Non-Exempt associates with overall policy management and assist with fielding questions while providing associate relations.
  • Manage and support with associate movement process and evaluating documentation to ensure aligning with company policies, budgets, etc. 

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related Business or Psychology field.
  • 0 - 4 years of equivalent, related job experience, based upon education.
  • Working knowledge of Kronos, Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint, PeopleSoft.
  • Good analytical and presentation skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.

Working Conditions

  • Open-office environment.
  • Travel 2-5 days annually for training and/or special projects.
  • May require travel between plants/locations.
  • 2-5 hours of OT per week.
