Automotive Drivetrain Technician

Job Purpose
The candidate assures quality products for our customer through the resolution of drivetrain warranty concerns by utilizing engineering theory and principles to identify the root cause of market problems with transmissions, transfers, rear differentials and related component parts.
Key Accountabilities
• Perform all steps necessary to conduct root cause analysis of failed drivetrain warranty components including but not limited to component installation, removal, disassembly, reassembly, instrumentation, testing, CAN/NVH data collection, CAN/NVH data analysis, component measurements and interpret engineering drawings
• Compile detailed technical analysis reports summarizing disassembly observations, component measurements, test results, CAN/NVH data analysis, past problem history, manufacturing/vehicle history and failure cause
• Comprehend and investigate manufacturing processes to identify potential failure causes
• Collaborate with other departments to determine problem cause and resolution
• Identify and implement internal MQ Unit improvement projects
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology or other Technical or Engineering Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with interest/experience in automotive drivetrain technology (Considered).
0-2 years of experience based on education
