Job purpose:

  • This role will be responsible for leading Technical Research and Advancement within Prototype Quality to successfully execute New Model projects. You will provide technical expertise to ensure the quality of the final products & unit assignments are achieved and on-schedule. Coordinate with all PQ associates and others throughout HDMA/AHM and GO-ADC to advance technology, develop excellent products and create or improve all relevant processes & procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

New Model Technical Expert: Prototype Quality

  • Regional category Technical Expert for Logistics, Warehousing and Metrology areas.
  • Leads Technical Collaboration throughout Global Honda (HDMA, AHM, GO-ADC).
  • Leads Electrification Planning: equipment, facility, safety, and skills advancement.
  • Responsible for reading and interpreting 2-D data and Catia across several groups
  • Creates long term Technical Vision and leads Technical Themes to achieve objectives.
  • Creates clear and concise documents to explain activities and secure approval.
  • Supports category workload, resource planning and efficiency improvement themes.
  • Creates long-term investment plans for equipment and facility requirements.
  • Teaches and mentors other associates to promote growth and skills development.

New Model Development: Team Leadership

  • Leads Improvement Themes (BI/R-Themes) to solve problems and develop technology.
  • Identifies major objectives, manages priorities, and provides weekly status updates.
  • Promotes advanced problem-solving techniques to facilitate root cause analysis.
  • Promotes team collaboration and associate development of problem-solving skills.
  • Provides input to UL on associate development: hiring, training, reviews, and promotions.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Minimum Experience
  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience, preferably HDMA ADC New Model experience Other Job-Specific Skills
  • Team leadership experience
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Project management leadership experience
  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  • Super User of GSAP related modules and systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
