About this Position: 

Having a workforce that is skilled, engaged, and managed is key to the success and quality of the output of our company. The Manpower Controller position helps to guarantee all three components. It also provides division leadership a trusted partner in their management of that workforce.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Hiring and Onboarding Support:
    • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for the various systems used in management of our workforce.  This includes MyHR, Fieldglass, and Kronos. Main deliverable will be to answer questions for division leaders on the use of these systems and to manage any applicable “how to “manuals. Some data input into these systems may be required.
    • Assist management with job title and description, compensation studies, open requisition document creation, and support for any recruiting needs.
    • Onboarding: Determine division specific needs for new workers. Help to procure required assets, often with the assistance of our admin workforce. Act as a liaison with our SDL (Self Directed Learning) onboarding group to correlate responsibility and to make sure division needs are met.

 

  • Roster Management:
    • Own and maintain an accurate roster and org chart for each division and summarize for Business Unit as a whole. Be able to summarize weekly in a simple report format to keep management and the company in alignment with approved headcount. Report content includes current associate, contingent, OAP (overseas assignment), project specific contractor (PSC), Interns, job type attributes, and hiring status for open position.

 

  • Engagement:
    • Engagement related to the recognition and retention of our valued workforce. This includes Analysis and summary of Gallup Engagement surveys, benchmarking industry methodology, supporting division management in their themes (ex: finding volunteer opportunities) and helping to keep the divisions aligned within the Business Unit.
    • Partner and collaborate with corporate strategy groups in executing themes and initiatives.
    • In addition, help manage admins in their support of division led themes such as:  BU event execution (scheduling venue, food, equipment), administration of Nectar recognition database, and other general associate activity such as offsite meetings or engineering drive coordination and support.

 

  • Training:
    • Support division leaders in aligning a training plan and recognizing gaps in training. In addition, correlation with Human Resources with regards to division specific needs, and procurement of training from external vendors if needed.

 

  • Strategy and Theme Leadership:
    • Support any strategic themes that management may have related to our workforce. Propose any themes that help the division meet our overall company mission (efficiency, engagement, and upskilling).

 

 

Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience, ideally related industry experience or related Honda experience

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (ex: HR or Business Administration) or equivalent experience

 

Desired skills:

  • Good cross divisional communication, organizational skills, ability to adjust to priorities, and ability to operate independently at times are key. Exposure to Honda specific systems (MyHR, Fieldglass, Taleo, Kronos) is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office 365 applications such as Teams or SharePoint
  • Ability to travel and work overtime as required

 

Working Conditions:

  • Primary working location is seated at a desk
  • Hybrid work from home is allowed (target is 60% in office)
  • <10% travel
  • OT required as necessary to achieve program deliverables.
  • No heavy lifting required (only normal office supplies, tools, etc.)
