Job Purpose

Take lead of part strategy including In House and Out Sourcing to realize best sourcing of North American Power Sports & Products within the Cost Planning Unit as well as model cost, budget, RM, and project reporting.

Creates concise, accurate cost and maker layout summaries and reports them to Cost Planning management in support of PSP development  and procurement activity.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead Cost Strategy creation of overall purchasing strategy consisting of best part sourcing(IH/OS) new model development along with procurement team by generating reports, analysing data and assisting in the preparation of presentation materials for reporting and/or evaluations.
  • Roll up Short/Mid term cost& investment budget and make proposal including coordination of the mass production unit cost budgeting and Raw Material.
  • Participates in coordination of I/H vs O/S manufacturing themes for both current and new model production to establish most effective business characteristic.
  • Execute special project or Future business study on PSP area and lead project.
  • Manages the access of PSP associates and suppliers to related purchasing systems and coordinate any necessary training.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business (Accounting or Purchasing preferred) or related discipline or equivalent work experience

Minimum Experience:

  • Requires 8-10 years related work experience , preferably in PSP or Automotive filed.

Other Job-Specific Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Honda Purchasing systems.
  • Proficiency with programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, relational database management (QMF/SQL). 
  • Lead the project or inter department activity effectively with other department leadership members like Design/ Manufacturing as well as Procurement.
  • Good planning, implementation and project leading management skills. 
  • Effective presentation skills up to Top Management level

Decisions Expected

  • Proposal of Part Strategy & Best Sourcing to PSP DEB management (DevEX/Manufacturing/Purchasing)
  • Proposal of OS budget to PSP DEB management (Short/Mid term Budget)
  • Confirm accuracy of budgets prior to submission
  • Advises and provides guidance on financial information reported to business leaders

Working Conditions

Travel:  Average of 1-2 times per month, depending on project demand.  Could include some international travel.

Physical:  primarily deskwork, frequent keyboarding.

Hazards:  maybe exposed to hazardous chemicals & equipment, including on/off road riding/driving.

Overtime:  expected based on project demands/responsibilities
