Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to identify both insurable and non-insurable risks and be able to provide recommendations around risk tolerance and mitigation. This role is expected to build relationships, gain trust, find common ground, and use a team-building approach to solve problems and accomplish goals.
This position is part of the Team that supports all American Honda business units and is responsible for 150+ commercial insurance placements across 20 lines of coverage dealing with numerous internal and external partners. Seeking specific experience with Property Employment Practices Liability, Workers’ Compensation, and various other placements. This should include experience with U.S. and international markets.
Key Accountabilities:
- Strategize, set direction/design for various Property & Casualty insurance placements and captive led programs. Work on claims for associated programs including subrogation opportunities as they arise.
- Activities include: providing required loss information to markets, putting together market submission, working with facilities safety, giving presentations to underwriters, generation of Property Reserve Reports and Claims Bordereau, interaction with finance and auditors, keeping all markets and brokers throughout the year up to date on large Property and Workers’ Compensation claims, producing monthly claims reviews, communication of Workers’ Compensation Associate Safety Overview/Programs, pre-employment procedures, injury management programs, other safety summaries and communications to external providers, and managing Honda’s property insurance engineering program by identify hazards and evaluate risk though routine inspections, consultations and risk reduction recommendations.
- Review agreements, contracts and request for proposals for multiple internal customers as needed.
- Represent Risk Management and Insurance on various internal committees (i.e., safety).
- Responsible for addressing Risk Management and Insurance questions from associates, brokers, carriers and claims Third Party Administrators. This can include performing risk assessments on new risks that arise.
- Responsible for managing the consolidation and continued efforts to increase efficiencies to risk finance programs.
- Bring consensus regarding assumption of risk and aligning risks with risk finance/insurance program across various independent entities.
- Improve processes and ensure compliance while acting as a resource for other departments.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
- BA in Business or Economics preferred, CPCU and/or ARM also preferred
- 10 years of Risk Management and Insurance at a Fortune 500 company, insurer, or broker environment. Seeking experience in placing Property and Workers’ Compensation for large and complex manufacturing risks across U.S., and international markets.
- Project Management Skills
- Effectively sell ideas/negotiation skills required
- Power BI preferred AI integration/automation
