About this Position:
Design processes for safe and efficient automotive frame assembly. Use analytic tools and traditional industrial engineering methods to optimize Assembly Line production functions..
Responsibilities include:
- Use M.O.S.T. to develop balanced processes across manufacturing areas. Work to achieve high Process Efficiency. Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques. Design processes that are simple and achieve SQCDM targets.
- Audit big data to ensure accurate information across all Operations Standards. Mobilize Excel formulas and VBA coding to optimize tasks.
- Regularly lead meetings with other Honda functional groups to develop and launch improvement themes (Quality, Safety, Delivery, Production, Purchasing, Packaging, or Logistics).
- Perform time estimates for assembly line work, equipment loads, and develop Operation Standards.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste within the process and improve efficiency. Apply 5S work methods, workstation design, and set best practices for production.
- Evaluate and implement ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.
- New Support Model Events. Forecast design impact to department. Incorporate change points into process design. Identify concerns and countermeasure before mass production.
- Maintain accurate AutoCAD department layout.
- Develop Plans and Schedules for projects. Set timelines and detailed activities. Hold meetings with cross functional engineering groups to ensure completeness.
- Project support for all items impacting Assembly department’s Associate Process.
- Collect feedback from the production floor and address their concerns.
- Read Parts drawings, Spec Notices, 3D CATIA data.
- Create charts and presentations to report status and plans for key department metrics.
Who we are seeking:
Required Work Experience:
- 0-6 years of experience based on education, manufacturing experience preferred
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing)
- Without a Bachelors degree: Work Previous Experience of 6 years that is relevant

Additional Position Factors:
- Generally first shift production hours, occasional split/second shift support required. 0-5 hours OT weekly.
- 50% Fast-paced high-energy manufacturing environment, 50% office environment.
