Job Purpose

Leader of U.S. Shared Service Benefits and Wellbeing Operations Department. Responsible for leading strategic benefit plan design, business process improvement, developing and leading a shared service operation. Implementing complex policy and design initiatives. Responsible for establishing, monitoring, managing, delivering and leading benefit plans, including but not limited to, health and welfare plans, wellbeing program, retirement/wealth plans, absence management plans, voluntary benefit plans, and service/retirement award programs. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Provides strategic and operational leadership to a multifunctional team of professionals to provide expert knowledge and experience on a variety of benefit programs focused on Health and Welfare, Wellbeing, Retirement/Wealth, Absence Management Teams, awards. 
  • Manage broker, carrier, and vendor relationships to optimize benefit ROI, Performance/SLAs, and cost considerations 
  • Leading strategic benefit plan design, business process improvement, developing and leading a shared service operation.  Implementing complex policy and design initiatives
  • Consults and partners with COE, consultants, business and functional leaders to design and/or procure products and services that support optimal talent attraction and retention
  • Serve as the administrative and compliance leader for all company benefit plans
  • Accountable for business plans, budget, and headcount 
  • Drives utilization of data, benchmarking, and analysis to ensure programs are structured and performing at set targets 
  • Review financial performance of benefit plans to ensure optimal ROI 

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred
  • 10-12 years in a progressive Benefit Shared Service Operations/Strategy function including 5-7 years in a leadership role; or equivalent experience
  • Ability to manage complex projects for implementation
  • Proven experience with solving for complex business conditions   
  • Advanced technical knowledge with laws employee benefit plans
  • Advanced understanding of plan designs and delivery 
  • Advanced abilities to vendor manage a complex vendor eco system
  • Advanced knowledge of benefit cost forecasting, budgeting, and funding 
  • Collaboration in a regional shared services organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including influencing and negotiating
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong people skills with ability to successfully interface at all organizational levels
  • Strong conflict management skills & critical thinking skills
