Job Purpose

Manage a local Facilities team within a multi-site organization, providing business planning, operational leadership, and technical expertise to a wide variety of infrastructure, equipment, and building disciplines across several locations.  Specialty topics may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Building envelope (walls, flooring, ceilings, roofing, siding, windows, doors)
Space planning and standard interior design (layout, furniture, finish / material selections)
Site and grounds (landscaping, snow removal)
Custodial services
Mechanical utilities (facility water, compressed air, HVAC/exhaust, natural gas, thermal oxidizer, boiler, sewer, fuel, fire suppression, and facility management systems)
Electrical utilities (power supply and distribution, lighting, fire detection and alarm)
Electromechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC / refrigeration, digital control, PLC’s, etc. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Contract Management -- Arrange and manage appropriate contracted services support, as needed.  Ensure all work meets or exceeds defined organization targets, including health and safety, environmental, quality, cost, schedule, and confidentiality criteria.  Oversee and manage work to ensure all deliverables comply with associated contract documents, codes and regulations, industry standards, and Honda standards, as applicable.
  • Customer Support – Act as point of contact to receive and address customer requests and/or concerns.  Ensure provision of appropriate customer service, optimizing resolution of customer needs within overall business operating requirements.
  • Budget Management – Develop and maintain organizational budgets for capital investment and expense activities, such as maintenance and repair of facility assets and contracted support services.  Budget responsibilities include formulating requests, tracking expenditures, analyzing trends, and adjusting budgets to address business needs.
  • Business Planning – Evaluate, implement, and set strategic direction for activity based on business objectives, including establishing measurable performance goals.  Evaluate overall operational progress through regular status assessment and provide associated feedback.
  • Campus Operations Support -- Utilize technical knowledge of building, project management, analytical decision-making, risk assessment, and troubleshooting / problem solving, to support facilities-related operations across several locations in order to meet or exceed organization metrics.
  • Personnel Supervision -- Manage daily personnel work, including assigning / balancing workloads to associates/contractors, managing schedules, ensuring timely and accurate output, and providing technical expertise, as necessary.  Support creation of personnel performance goals based on business plan and individual personnel development objectives.  Evaluate individual performance vs. established goals and competencies.  Provide regular performance-related feedback.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Preferred certifications 
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or equivalent.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) certification
  • Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) certification

Workstyle

  • Office, vehicle workshop, mechanical / electrical equipment room, and vehicle test environments.
  • Willingness to travel for equipment confirmation, department reviews, and business planning events.
  • Ability to work overtime, as needed, to complete tasks.
  • Work all appropriate weekends / shutdowns to manage projects and cover operational needs.
