Job Purpose
Leads the compensation function and partners with senior management to ensure that compensation strategy and
programs support the organization's business objectives, meet legal requirements, and deliver value, equitable,
and sustainable compensation.
The Operations Senior Compensation Manager is responsible for leading the implementation and execution of
enterprise-wide compensation strategies. This role ensures alignment between compensation practices and
organizational objectives through strategic planning, operational excellence, and continuous improvement of
compensation-related processes and systems.
Develops compensation budget for assigned areas and manages budget after it is approved. Establishes data
collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies. Responsible for US
Honda organization and collaborates with other Honda teams outside of the US.
Key Accountabilities
- Operational execution of strategy: Translate enterprise compensation strategies into actionable plans and processes across organization, ensuring timely, consistent, and effective implementation of programs such as salary structures, bonus plans, job evaluations, and pay equity initiatives.
- Operational Excellence and Process Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline compensation workflows and improve the efficiency, scalability, and consistency of services delivered by the compensation team.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to ensure competitive salary structures and benefits packages.
- Governance, Compliance, and Data Integrity: Maintain rigorous standards for regulatory compliance (e.g. FLSA, pay equity laws), and governance to upload organizational integrity and mitigate risks. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of compensation data, provide insights, and influence compensation decisions.
- Strategic Departmental Planning: Develop and manage departmental roadmaps, resource plans, and service delivery models that support the organization’s growth, operational needs, and workforce priorities. Lead and develop as high-performing compensation operations team.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence aligned with the organization’s mission and values. - Budget Management: Develop and manage compensation budgets.
- Communication: Communicate compensation policies and changes to employees and advise managers on compensation-related matters/
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with compensation-related vendors
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- University Degree (BS) in Business Administration or equivalent
- CCP Certification is highly desired
- 10+ Years of Total Rewards and/or relevant HR or Finance experience
- 3+ Years of Leadership or equivalent experience
