Job Purpose
Oversees the specialized services for security operations nationally. Responsibilities include Critical Incident
Response development, deployment and evaluation. Responsible for the alignment and oversight of all armed
response officers across all Honda operations. Routine cadence of risk assessment of Honda properties in
alignment with best practices. Oversight of the Executive Protection Program and Corporate Event Security.
Responsible for the integrity and effectiveness of the International Travel Safety Program, Threat Assessment, K9
Operations and Investigations
Key Accountabilities
- Management of all response related programs and objectives nationally. With a strong service mindset, identifies and shares risk mitigation/response best practices and opportunities with internal/external teams. Works as regional expert on investigation and response measures for all US Honda locations. Establish and maintain relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement as well as site security teams. Through regular, site-specific touch points, gathers customer sentiment, conducts assessments, conveys summary and recommendations torelevant management and executive leadership. Leverage internal and external relationships (i.e. Honda Cross Functional Leadership and Law Enforcement).
- Review of daily/monthly incident reports and ongoing investigations. Initiates follow up with vendor team and direct reports as necessary. Makes recommendations and provides support to security personnel on investigations and policy management
- Collaborate with HR, Legal, Operations to implement best practices that fit with Honda operations. Facilitate effective research, development and the implementation of training, policy and procedure aligned with industry best practices utilizing solid business acumen and technical writing skills.
- Focuses on developing self and others through continuous training and self-improvement. Responsible for associate and leadership training on response related issues nationally
- Ensures site compliance with a variety of regulations and procedures. Attend security training seminars and briefings with U.S government officials and law enforcement agencies to gather current regulations / events to continuously improve and assess the trajectory of Corporate Security programming. Stay abreast of the latest security risks and mitigation strategies by benchmarking other OEMs and manufacturing companies to ensure Honda remains at the forefront of security best practices. Leads and summarizes regular audit findings.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Four-year degree in Security or Related Field or equivalent of 10+ year work experience in the field of LE (related) or Security Management
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience managing/directing security/response operations
- 3+ years of supervisory experience
- Must have strong background in investigations and LE operations
- Must have PC skills including MS office applications § Must have Security/Risk analysis expertise
- Must have familiarity with critical incident management (NIMS - National Incident Management System), unified command structure
- Ability to lead and motivate professional and support staff
- Ability to handle pressure and people problems effectively and with a service-oriented approach
- Knowledge in all legal aspects of risk assessment, law enforcement and security operations
Working Conditions
- Travel required. Estimated at 25% of time
- Physically must be able to navigate safely through industrial settings
- Work hours vary including weekends & holidays, as required to support business operations.
