Job Purpose

The New Model Engineering Project Leader I coordinates the manufacturing activities of ATV/SxS new model development projects of small to medium size (S – CS Flows) unsupported and DF flows with New Model Unit Head support, while achieving quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) targets.

Key Accountabilities

  • Create consensus with Company, Plant, Division and Department Management on direction for New Model Projects
  • Develop and promote new model event schedules and expectations
  • Establish Project A00’s for assigned projects that align with company business plan and project goals
  • Lead manufacturing new model project problem solving and countermeasure activity while balancing development QCD.  Apply situational leadership principles to navigate diverse viewpoints, unique technical challenges, and business constraints.
  • Coordinate with development execution, manufacturing, and sales to ensure manufacturing new model project teams’ readiness for major milestones such as project evaluations, build events and initial mass production launch.  Monitor project risks and elevate concerns to project stakeholders.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent in related field
  • High School Diploma and 5+ years of related work experience may be substituted.

Minimum Experience:

  • Should have 3 years project management experience.
  • Experience in PSP manufacturing, quality and / or purchasing functions

Other Job-Specific Skills:

  • Understanding of E-side New Model Roles and Responsibilities
  • Understanding of SEDB (Sales, Manufacturing, R&D, Purchasing) functions
  • Understanding of New Model development characteristics (timelines, schedules, etc.)
  • Excellent multi-tasking, prioritizing, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to positively influence & motivate team members.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point).

  • New model scheduling decisions based on product, project, and business impact
  • Risk management to determine when issues need to be escalated to stakeholders

Working Conditions

Travel:  Average of 1~3 times per year, depending on project demands.

Physical:  Primarily desk work, frequent keyboarding.

Hazards: n/a

Overtime:  Overtime expected based on project demands/responsibilities.
