Avionics and Electrical Technical Trainer

General Summary:
Develops, plans, conducts avionics and electrical training. Additionally, will assist in the development of various work assignments throughout the training area. *This is a Contingent position with our company (1-year or longer)*
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans, coordinates, schedules, and conducts in-house training classes for associates/contingents to build skills competencies needed for production.
- Prepares training materials and documentation.
- Communicates technical information to users/students in non-technical clear terms.
- Develops, evaluates, and assembles class modules, training materials, and handouts.
- Provides follow-up support and further training assessment to students.
- Administers on the job (OJT) training to technicians.
- Evaluates training programs, conducts assessments of technical training programs through surveys, interviews and participant evaluations.
- Provides clear written assembly instructions to technicians.
- Performs needs analysis; creates PowerPoint presentations; course outlines and syllabi’s.
Education, Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
- Associate Degree (Technical) and/or minimum 2 years training related experience. One year of direct aircraft experience potentially may be substituted for each year of college.
- 5 years of aerospace related experience in aviation specialty area.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and/or specification requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management.
- Ability to create and demonstrate practical assessment for training courses.
- Ability to deliver technical training courses to aircraft technicians.
- Excellent presentation skills, knowledgeable of aircraft production-related subjects and able to work a flexible schedule in order to support all shifts.
- Entry level Development skills required.
Physical Requirements:
- Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
- Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
- Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
- Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
- Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
- Effectively communicate in Business English language.
- Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
- Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
