Job Purpose

Management and leadership of Equipment Service team assigned to support daily production. Provide technical, business, and leadership support to a team of associates consisting of ES Coordinators, Staff, Team Leaders, & Technicians. The duties are diverse and cover topics such as Cross Functional support of special requests, long range planning, support & follow up on daily manufacturing operational needs.
Work with Engineering, production, and reliability group to maintain current department equipment, and work to improve SEQCDM characteristics withing PA department by coordinating and planning equipment upgrades, replacements, repairs with the local engineering group and PEBU groups.

Key Accountabilities

 Maintenance & Engineering Strategy Development & Execution

Evaluate leading and lagging metrics and drive team to continuously seek new and advanced technology and strategies that can be applied to improve SQCDM characteristics utilizing internal/external resources and technical expertise.
Data analysis, theme sheet development, Dept. SAP development, and progress checks
Support development of "Zero Base" budget, periodic review of actuals, strong PDCA cycling, cost reduction theme generation.
Lead and support reporting activities including scorecard, budgetary items, SA, safety items, etc.
Drive PDCA Cycle as required based off KPI trend evaluation.
Aide team in prioritizing key activities to achieve KPI and BP goals that improve department characteristics and drive continuous improvement.
Ensure maximum utilization of resources.
Challenge and evaluate BP submissions to ensure alignment and linkage to short term struggles while balancing long term growth

Mentorship, supervision, and development

Provide both technical & non-technical mentorship, guidance, and growth/development opportunity for team members to ensure alignment to core values and seamless succession.
Work closely with team members to foster a proactive mindset, reduce change management impact, consider internal SQCDM and external customer viewpoints, and understand urgency of activity.
Work closely with team members to improve business planning, time management, customer viewpoint, OJT, and leadership capability.
Advocate for HAMR (Honda Asset Management & Reliability) program & CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) system
Understand, communicate, and set direction to the team on standards, policies, and best practices (both technical and non-technical) brought forward by external depts. and SQCDM teams.

Equipment activity awareness and project evaluation

Continuous awareness of equipment preparedness and running state, include fostering this activity and mindset to others.
Remain aware of long-term and temp CM activity.
Engage and evaluation of future equipment activity via meetings with internal/external resources

Downtime call support and follow-up Activity

Quick and effective management of downtime to ensure optimum recovery of equipment with zero risk to safety. 
Assure teams adherence to trigger trip activity and reporting requirements which promote identification of true root cause and the development/implementation of effective countermeasures.
Evaluate and participate in trigger trip report creation and related RCA/CM activity/Technical evaluation.

Administrative functions 

Hours confirmation, vacation approval/coverage support, coaching & counselling, Associate performance management.
Interview internal/external interested candidate for open positions.
Understand ELP policies to assist Associates in understanding expectations and application

Professional Development (OJT and skill based)

All HDMA level-based training
Reliability and Asset Management training
Complete Uptime Elements Academy and pursue recognized certifications like CRL, CRE, and CMM
Technical documentation creation and sharing
Technical and leadership training, trade shows, seminars and webinars, and benchmark visits

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Associates/bachelor’s degree in engineering/industrial maintenance (e.g., mechanical, electrical, industrial and robotics); or equivalent relevant experience. Current Certified Reliability Leader certificate
8 years equipment service experience, with preference for 8+ years engineering/equipment service experience, based on education. 5 years’ experience in key capabilities (engineering, maintenance, cost, accounting, project leadership, industrial systems, iso-compliance, investments, training)
Minimum 3 years MESD supervisory experience with preference for 5+ Years MESD supervisory experience
Functional ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic prints.
Expert knowledge / ability with root cause analysis
Energetic person with passion for leading people and driving activity to achieve strategic goals across multiple groups, cross-functional teams, and regionally.
Strong systems/technical, business planning, accounting/cost, prioritization/organization, written/verbal communication, and project management leadership skills.
Expertise with Microsoft Office applications, reporting tools, and applicable Honda Systems (SAP, Kronos, Weekend Work Coordinator, ActivPlant, MDT Autosave, Maximo, etc.).
Ability to use analytics to collect and study information/data from various resources/perspectives to make and drive department/plant level decisions.
Strong technical skills for electrical, mechanical, & controls (PLC/Safety-PLC/relays/VFDs/etc.).
Strong reliability skills (troubleshooting,5-Why, RC Analysis)

Workstyle

Office environment and floor requirement for daily production follow up / interaction.
10-15 Hours OT per week
Potential for Overseas and Domestic Travel
Weekend and Holiday Work may be required
