Job Purpose


Lead and direct the AEP Mfg. Skilled Trade & Production Instructor team to manage training focusing on associate skill development & area process types of work.  Support CSR Workforce Partnership western Ohio (AEP / TMP-O) representative needs as requested. 

  

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Team Lead of Training (Plant)
    • Manage and lead associate training strategies & activities
    • Lead & Develop PMD Skilled Trade & Production Instructors
    • Manage internal or external training requests to allow AEP to fulfil commitments or deadlines
    • Continuous development of self, colleagues and team through training and mentoring to proactively improve areas of management expertise for personal and team growth
    • Evaluate and assess concerns identified by team to help or guide them to address or correct and resolve issues utilizing high speed PDCA
  • TMP-O Support of AHM CSR Workforce Partnership Western Ohio (AEP / TMP-O) Representative requests for plant participation:
    • Obtain internal candidates for CSR Workforce Partner Requests for STEM activities (i.e.: Lego League, WIM, Mfg. Day)
    • Co-op requests for manpower recruitment candidates & assignments for plant 
    • Purchase budget items per CSR Workforce Partnership Representative requests or direction
    • Recruit and develop AEP associates to support internal / external STEM activities as needed    
  • Training KPI Development 
    • PDCA on plant training KPI’s to assure achievement or continuous improvement
    • Create, Develop & Maintain Training BP Strategy
    • Manage Training BP Themes to assure on-time completion and in/out achievement
    • Support PMD Skilled Trade & Production Principal Instructor & Presentation of Plant Training Monthly Report to Plant Leads
    • BP Theme Leadership as assigned by plant
    • Administrative Lead for AEP in HLC (Honda Learning Center)- create, input, tracking, reporting of classes
  • New Hire Onboarding:
    • Collaborate with AEP P&S Manpower Team to understand requirements & Reporting Details
    • Support, participate in New Hire Orientation Process
    • Ensure all supplies are available each week
    • Enter training info into system when needed
    • Work continuously with HDMA PRO Center in training development for AEP associate needs
    • Confirm the proper training classes exist and are maintained or modified as needed. 
    • Identify training area gaps & develop training materials or techniques to overcome.  Give direction & guidance to Skilled Trade & Production
    • Instructors in application.

 

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

 

  • Minimum Educational Qualifications
    • BS in Business or 6 years applicable experience
  • Minimum Experience
    • 2-6 Years applicable experience based on education
  • Other Job-Specific Skills
    • Positive attitude, open minded and team player
    • Strong communication (written - oral) and decision-making skills
    • Strong self-motivation and desire to support a manufacturing work environment
    • Process / Training Knowledge & Development Experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 
    • Developing & Reporting KPI Metrics (Training / Onboarding)
    • Budget Development & Management  
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage team members assigned to different production areas

 

Workstyle

 

  • 80% office area / 20% production areas
  • Overtime typical between 5~7 hours per week
  • Travel requirements are less than 5% (excluding other Ohio facilities)
