JOB DETAILS
Job Title
Skilled Trade & Production Instructor
JOB PURPOSE
Lead and execute the operations and on-going implementation of the Production Readiness Onboarding (PRO) training. Deliver manufacturing ready new hires (HDMA Full Time & Contingent) to the department and ensure retention and engagement by utilizing onboarding best practices.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
•Lead and investigate the onboarding process of all associates within the department by creating and executing the department training plans (focus on Manufacturing Production Readiness). Create and improve training material. Coordinate benchmarking activities with other departments and plants.
•Collect and analyze all sign offs on department associate’s Production Readiness. Acquire all skills (focus on Manufacturing Production Readiness) needed to appropriately instruct department specific training classes. Lead the instruction to all associates on key items that will help them be successful within their role. Analysis key training activities and training data. Communicate in monthly reports.
•Collect and analyze data that supports continuous improvement activities that will assist in the development of associates (ideal situation vs actual situation). Support Dept / Plant business plan activities.
•Analyze all training in Honda provided systems and department created systems. Analyze associate requirements have been met. Communicate to team members scheduled training and future training opportunities. Utilize verbal and written communication.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
Minimum Educational Qualifications
Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
Minimum Experience
2 years production experience
Other Job-Specific Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Knowledge of Honda / Japanese culture, philosophy and terminology
Positive attitude, passionate about people and enabling their success
Present material to small and large groups
Ability to train and develop others
Strong communication skills (written or oral) and decision making
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Plan vs Actual completion of Honda required training
Pre / Post Instructor lead assessment scores
Timely execution of Business Plan themes

Department Leadership members – provide training direction and approval
