About this Position:
The Quality Engineer’s core role and responsibility is to assure quality products to our final customer through data collection and analysis that supports specifications to manufacturing, confirmation testing, and quality problem solving.
Responsibilities include:
- Collect test/analysis data using a variety of equipment/methods. Test, evaluate, and implement new and innovative technologies to improve overall equipment and process efficiency.
- Write technical reports to document analysis and countermeasure activity. Review and analyze daily report(s) to identify safety, quality, delivery gaps and develop potential countermeasures and /or root cause analysis opportunities striving for continuous improvement.
- Execute analysis plan for quality concern. Utilize data analysis and PDCA to lead, support, develop and justify solutions with related groups/departments for your area of responsibility to solve complex problems.
- Support conclusion of results after analysis plan
- Propose countermeasure activity, including process and/or specification change
- Support the development of analysis plan for quality concern.
Who we are seeking:
Required Work Experience:
- 0-6 years of experience dependent upon education
- 1 term as a co-op/ intern for Honda or in a similar manufacturing environment preferred
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Desired skills:
- Positive attitude, open minded, and a team player
- Ability to solve complex problems through analysis to propose and implement appropriate countermeasures based on timing, quality, and cost
- Strong communication skills and problem-solving skills
- Strong self-motivation and desire to work in a manufacturing environment
Additional Position Factors:
- 50% office area; 40% laboratory area; 10% production areas
- OT of approximately 4-8 hours per week
- <5% travel (excluding other Ohio facilities)
- Working with hand/power tools, quality gauging, and instrumentation
