About this Position:
Responsible for leading casting die designs for North American mass production facilities with outputs in the form of 3D models and detailed drawings while working closely with customers and internal team members to ensure high quality parts and production stability.
Responsibilities Include:
- Design new model casting tooling utilizing CAD software.
- Design business plan casting tooling utilizing CAD software.
- Implement customer specifications and request into new and existing casting dies.
- Investigate improvements or countermeasure tooling related problems during die builds and mass production.
- Create and coordinate design schedules then track the progress of design release.
- Lead and manage the design of multiple tooling projects.
- Investigate and implement business related improvement items.
- Investigate potential new model casting shapes and provide feedback to product designers.
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or similar
Minimum Experience:
- At least 3 months co-op experience
Other Job-Specific Skills:
- Familiarity with CAD software.
- Mechanical/manufacturing knowledge.
Additional Position Factors:
- 70% office environment: sitting for extended periods and working on PC equipment.
- 20% manufacturing environment: PPE required at all times in manufacturing environment, standing for prolonged periods (up to 2hrs), occasionally lifting up to 40lbs, occasionally working inside casting machines, potential exposure to heat, occasional exposure to dust, oil or grease.
- Up to 10% travel required, including international (Japan, Canada, Mexico).
