Job Purpose

Responsible for managing national sales events/program creation/implementation. This role is also responsible for the analysis of Powersports sales (retail and wholesale) versus the business plan.  Managing and tracking competitive situation analysis, industry trend analysis and the development of programs and initiatives with key stakeholders and Sr. Management (BUH/BMO).  All to support the overall Powersports business objectives.  In addition, this person will manage the promo teams’ creation and distribution of all Power Sports & Products communications to internal/external stakeholders (Field Sales/Service/PSP Dealers) while continually monitoring program effectiveness.  This team is expected to recommend/implement countermeasures as needed.  This position is also responsible to be the AHM conduit between AHFC and our outside vendors – such as Synchrony Finance and Citibank credit. In addition, the 4 Rider Education centers will roll up to this group now. The goal is to increase rider ed training while reducing fatalities amongst riders.  This manager will manage the Rider Ed coordinator and all the teams at each of the Honda facilities (Colton CA, Alpharetta GA, Troy OH and Irvin TX).

Key Accountabilities

  • Create and participate in the strategic planning, development, administration and management of retail and wholesale programs that contribute to the achievement of Powersports and Products Business Unit retail and wholesale objectives.
  • Analyze competitive sales, promotions, and model information to maintain Honda competitiveness in the marketplace. Recommend programs to Sales Promo and Field Sales departments that are effective, timely, and support achievement of Business Units sales objectives.
  • Create and participate in strategic planning, development, administration and management of rider training wholesale and retail activities that contribute to achievement of global vision to reduce/eliminate traffic fatalities
  • Analyze program goals vs. results for all programs. Provide recommendations for future program direction (Department PDCA).
  • Manage team and develop program materials/order programs for dealer distribution.
  • Manage team and develop BRM/BIM and/or Ad hoc analysis of sales data as requested by Sr. Management.
  • Manage and develop the promo asst mgrs, promo admin team and rider training admin.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience
  • 8/10 years of work experience with 4/6+ years in wholesale/retail sales environment (Powersports dealership, OEM or Aftermarket)
  • Experience in plan development, tracking against results and developing plan recovery countermeasures
  • Preferred 2 – 3 years in supervisory or leadership role
  • In-depth knowledge of Powersports and/or Power Equipment products and markets (desired)
  • Strong customer-service characteristics including communication (verbal and written), documentation, follow-up techniques, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Strong Leadership skills required to capture and prioritize competing initiatives, ensuring achievement of dates and deliverables
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities to problem solve in complex and collaborative environments
  • Attention to detail, time management, reliable documentation and persistence in open issues, including follow-up and resolution
  • Ability to effectively communicate direction to team and provide guidance and follow-up to ensure on-time project completion
  • Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive company information
  • Ability to interface with management, as well as inter and intra department associates
  • Must have the ability to think proactively and prioritize work
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge in SAP, Document Direct, Business Objects and Adobe InDesign
  • Must have very strong skills in all MS Office applications. Excel and PowerPoint are key.  Business Objects knowledge is a plus

Working Conditions

  • Possible travel for sensing, sale program incentives, and dealer conferences that may occur over weekends
  • Fast-paced environment changes with sales results and may require OT to adjust programs and budget planning at the end/start of each month
  • This position will be located in Alpharetta GA
