Job Purpose
The Power Equipment Shows and PR Coordinator will support dept/division by coordinating and managing all aspects of Shows and Events, along with handling PR activities for the divisions Power Equipment and Engines product lines.
Key Accountabilities
- Budgeting, Event Planning, Scouting and Reporting (Budget planning and tracking through budget period based on key focus models, volumes and categories of product being pushed. Event planning is taking direction from senior leadership through SP process to build event plans that ensure the correct units are presented properly to the most influential press and media outlets at a location that best represents the planned utilization of the product. Scouting involves first researching potential event locations then traveling to top selections to determine feasibility of the event at that location. Reporting after the events includes creating presentations to share with BMO level management at SP and Getsuji events.)
- PS&P Media Interaction - Work with Media outlets across Endemic, Social and Ambassadors to inform and promote Honda Power Equipment Products
- At-event Management (Honda person in charge of hired vendors as well as Honda person onsite for promoter or location representatives to communicate with)
- Logisitics Management (All activity regarding requesting and reviewing transportation quotes from varied vendors, selecting and confirming the business with the selected trucking agency, while also organizing and setting up pickups for units loaned to vendors, influencers and endemic media outlets all while ensuring budget parameters are met)
- Department Inventory Management (All activities in regard to planning and ordering units, ensuring PE/Engine products arrive in time for Shows/Events and related PR activities. Also responsible for future disposition from inventory)
- Provide support at PSP related events as necessary
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications
- BA Degree or equivalent Power Equipment/industry work experience
Minimum Experience
- 5+ years Power Equipment experience or OEM experience required
Other Job-Specific Skills
- Have familiarity of Power Equipment and Engines business and marketing, including overall product knowledge of the Honda line-up and a good understanding of competitors products
- Must be comfortable in a role that requires public speaking to large groups with expertise in our product categories
- Prior event coordination/attendance/execution preferred
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
