Job Purpose

The Assistant Manager – Powersports Fleet Sales Support is responsible for strategically managing and driving profitable wholesale of PSP product nationally through the PSP Dealer Network by utilizing the PSP Fleet program. This role will also be responsible for overseeing and implementing the continued development and enhancement of the existing Fleet Program, including dealer support through the RFP process, and expansion into SLED and GSA.  Additionally, this role will develop and maintain key business relationships with dealer network, while also supporting 4 Zone Managers and 31 District Sales Managers.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Meets assigned fiscal year sales volume and strategic objectives by establishing productive and professional relationships with Dealer accounts and AHM Field Sales teams.  Support network in with Fleet RFP process, to include SLED and GSA bids.
  • Coordinates with internal Honda departments, including logistics, transportation, sales support, marketing, advertising, and management, to achieve sales objectives and execution of Fleet Sales program. Considers AHM impact in key decisions of customer product fulfilment
  • Sense US market conditions by region, identify sales obstacles and opportunities to develop, execute, and track countermeasure plans
  • Regularly study the competitive fleet landscape to identify new/emerging PSP Fleet business opportunities, and leverage Honda DQR to acquire new business accounts.
  • Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders using metrics that are essential and appropriate to the customer and Honda.
  • Attend national events and trade shows supporting Honda marketing and end-customer engagement 

 

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • BA/BS degree in Business or equivalent work-related experience
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in SAP/Business Objects and/or MS SQL
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of powersports dealership operations  
  • Strong analytical, written/oral communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain strong relationships with both intra-department and intra-organization contacts
  • Ability to lead (with and without designated authority)
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of Powersports Products: Honda and Competitive
  • Experience in developing presentations and presenting to large groups 
  • Results-driven, strong work ethic, self-motivated
  • Travel budget management

Workstyle

  • OT Required monthly. 
  • Must be able to sit and work in computer programs and applications for extended periods of time. 
  • Professional work environment with exposure to highly confidential information and business strategies (must have thorough understanding of this). 
  • Frequent presentations / recommendations to upper management; must be able to perform in high stress environment. 
  • 20% travel required.
