Job Purpose

The Assistant Manager, PS&P Public Relations will lead the coordination and implementation of PS&P Press & Public Relations strategies through coordination and consensus building across related divisions/departments both internal and external to NA PS&P to achieve short-, medium- and long-term business plan goals. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Directs all assigned staff to assure associate growth/performance, maintain team’s expected output, supports business plan initiatives, manages resources within designated limits, and promotes communication of strategies/results to associates/management
  • Directs the overall PS&P Press & Public Relations strategy through media facing events and interaction utilizing a combination of both internal and external resources to realize business goals
  • Actively managing Press inventory activity in a timely and effective manner to support business plan objectives
  • Develop and implement content strategy to engage media to increase brand preference and loyalty with goal being to drive sales division strategies and dealer sales

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or related discipline or equivalent work experience
     

Minimum Experience

  • 10+ years Powersports Dealer, OE or Aftermarket supplier experience required
  • Experience in direct supervision of teams comprising of multiple people
  • Good mechanical knowledge and understanding of Powersports technology

 

Other Job-Specific Skills

  • Have familiarity of 2- and 4-wheel PSP business and marketing, including overall product knowledge of the Honda line-up and a good understanding of competitors products 
  • Manage multiple schedules and budgets
  • Interacts and communicates effectively with associates; ability to motivate team
  • Must be comfortable in a role that requires public speaking to large groups with expertise in our product categories
  • Good planning, implementation and project management skills
  • Strategic thinking and ability to analyze Honda and competitor's situation to develop a plan to maximize given resources
  • Strong decision-making ability and presentation skills
  • Analyze complex media data reporting and adjust plans to effectively meet organizational objectives
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
