Job Purpose

Unit Lead - Data Strategy, Architecture and Governance is responsible for developing strategies and architecture that enable translation of raw data into valuable business insights while developing and managing metadata, data & analytics governance functions. Unit Lead will also provide strategic thinking, leadership, and ability to integrate AI technologies that will drive high performance and quality across the organization.

Key Accountabilities

  • Business Alignment: Collaborate with stakeholders to comprehend business goals and align data initiatives accordingly.
  • Data Strategy and Planning: Create data analysis strategies that provide actionable insights. Define company-wide metrics and identify relevant data sources.
  • Data Governance and Architecture: Implement data governance practices to ensure data quality, security, and compliance. Oversee data architecture, including designing and maintaining data models and metadata. Managing the data inventory and data catalog for the enterprise.
  • Data & Analytics Technology Planning and POC/POTs: Proactively evaluate and choose appropriate data and analytics tools and technologies. Configure and deploy solutions to extract meaningful information from data (Metadata and Data Catalog related or POCs).
  • Team Development: Mentor and guide data analysts/architects in their work. Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Extract reports from various sources (e.g., operations, IT, customer feedback). Develop dashboards and visualizations for effective communication.
  • Integration of AI: Stay informed about AI trends and advancements. Identify opportunities to incorporate AI into data processes and decision-making
  • Industry Knowledge and Continuous Learning: Apply industry expertise to interpret data and improve performance. Keep abreast of industry news, trends, and best practices.

Workstyle

Hybrid: In-person 2 to 3 days per workweek, at the local office at Torrance, CA.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Educational qualification:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics or a Related Quantitative Field.

Other qualifications:

  • 10 years experience in Data and Analytics Domain. Preferably as a Data Architect,
  • Data Governance Analyst, DBA or Data Scientist ▪ Solid background in Data Analysis and Reporting (Automotive Industry experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of tools such as ERWIN, Informatica, Excel, Python, R, SQL. and familiarity with Business Intelligence platforms (e.g. Tableau, Business Objects, QLIK, SAS, Power BI)
  • Proficiency and experience with Cloud Data Management and Analytics Solutions.
  • Experience developing and managing policies, guidelines and best practices
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to convey complex insights effectively
  • Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and problem-solving aptitude
  • Familiarity with Data Privacy, SOX and other compliance related Data Governance activities
