About this Position:

The Value Chain Control Tower (VCCT) Platform Owner is responsible for collaborating with internal/external stakeholders to align the vision, support development of the strategy, and work with internal and external teams to implement the platform/system. This role will have a significant interface with business and IT collaborators to streamline processes, lead decision-making on key changes or enhancements, and develop road maps/align strategic activities regionally for the product/system.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Product Strategy
    • Support development of vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Value Chain Control Tower platform in alignment with the business objectives and stakeholder needs (by working with the Epic Owner and Product Manager)
    • Build and sustain an understanding of Honda site’s system functionality and drive necessary improvements needed to existing systems to achieve Value Chain Control Tower vision.
    • Manage the VCCT backlog, prioritize features, and oversee the delivery of the platform/system using lean-agile mindsets and practices.
    • Leads the process for strategic improvement initiatives to enhance the Value Chain Control Tower at a regional level.
  • Platform Implementation
    • Act as Product Owner for Value Chain Platform agile team
    • Collaborate with internal and external teams, including business, IT, vendors, and partners, to design, develop, implement, and maintain the platform/system.
    • Support Scaled Agile (SAFe) process and deliverables for VCCT.
    • Deployment of design thinking and agile methodology to drive projects and improve customer experience.
    • Creative decision-making and strategy to lead regional and technical approach for the Value Chain Control Tower solution.
  • Change Management and Platform Sustainability
    • Support development of plan for training, support, and guidance to the platform/system users, as well as stakeholders to solicit feedback for continuous improvement.
    • Monitor and measure performance, availability, and quality of the platform/system, while identifying and resolving issues or risks in a timely manner.
    • Strategic partnership with New Value Chain initiatives to drive digital transformation for future state of Honda’s supply chain.
    • Leads integration of Value Chain Control Tower solution with extended business team.

 

Who we are seeking:

Required Experience:

  • 8+ years’ experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain or Technical field. Production Control and Supply Chain experience highly recommended.

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing or Technical field (ie IT, Engineering) or equivalent

 

Other job-specific skills:              

  • Proven ability to manage large projects across multiple business departments.
  • Proven skills in the following: computer skills; effective verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Critical communication, presentation, and storytelling skills
  • Ability to multitask and work with minimum supervision; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Design Thinking process.
  • Experience with Agile product delivery, ideally in the SAFe framework.
  • Knowledge of product ownership; IS/IT; knowledge transfer, capability to learn, understand and able to explain the system’s capability and process.
  • Able to empathize with associate, understand and clearly convey sentiment.
  • Knowledge of/Experience with Honda Production Control processes & systems.

 

Additional Position Factors:

  • Position is Virtual.
  • Typical travel: 3-5 times per Quarter, 8-10 times per Quarter during Product Launch
  • Approx. 5-10 hours per week overtime, more possible during peak project activity.
