Job Purpose

In this role, you will be responsible to deliver technical service support, education and problem resolution directly to marine dealers, to positively impact retail customer satisfaction. Travel to marine dealers to serve as a guide to enhance the marine dealer's service efforts. Visit all new marine dealers to initiate understanding of how Honda Marine operates in all product support phases and what responsibilities the dealer has to Honda Marine and the mutual customer. Educate dealership personnel in each of the dealership's Service-related departments as to Honda Marine policies, procedures, general Honda Marine operations and product technical items. Retrieve marketplace information of Honda product performance in order to help improve products for the future.   Actively participate in Marine techline, supporting dealers’ technical issues and act as a liaison to resolve customer relations issues in a timely manner and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide technical support for dealers through on-site visits 
  • Provide technical support for dealers through marine related Techline operations
  • Provide customer support for dealers and retail customers
  • Provide technical training to internal & external personnel
  • Complete special projects as assigned

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Industrial field is preferred or equivalent experience in a related technical field
  • Vocational or Marine technical training education is desirable
  • 3 years technical and at least 2 years management experience at retail or wholesale level in the Marine (or related) industry, to include service management, field service representative, or technical training
  • Good working knowledge of the Marine industry, Marine industry products, excellent technical understanding of Marine internal combustion engines, Marine drive lines, Marine rigging, diagnosis, and repair
  • Dealing with people and complex issues is an essential part of this position. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate on any level with internal or external personnel. Strong skills in negotiation is a must.
  • Ability to operate and train on key automotive/Marine precision measuring equipment and engine monitoring equipment. Working knowledge of P/C computer systems and all common office program applications for reporting and presentations.
