Job Purpose

The purpose of this job is to cultivate and manage the Honda business relationship with assigned key OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) while driving the sales of Honda general purpose engines. Working in close partnership with the OEM, this job manages demand forecasting, optimizing Honda placement in OEM product mix, growing Honda share of OEM product mix and displacing competitive models. This role will also support industry and OEM trade show events.  

Key Accountabilities

  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and OEM retail placement & sales to accurately forecast Honda Engine demand for production scheduling and achieve OEM wholesale sales objective.
  • Support OEM supply requirements, new projects & opportunities, and product transitions to achieve planned business goals. Partner with assigned Honda application engineer to support OEM technical needs and drive new product placement 
  • Become embedded in assigned OEM purchasing, forecasting, production, and sales operations so as to bring value by anticipating OEM needs and providing solutions.
  • Partner with OEMs to drive utilization of AHM sales programs, e.g. marketing/coop, volume discounts, direct freight, and demand forecasting suite 
  • Work internally (AHM Credit, Engine Operations, Logistics, Transportation) to support OEM accounts
  • Attend and support Honda and OEM industry shows and events when requested

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • Or minimum 7 years of experience working in the Power Equipment industry with E.G. OEMs, key national accounts, national retailers
  • Knowledge of Power Equipment products with emphasis on construction, rental, and consumer products with general purpose engines. Must have demonstrated knowledge and ability regarding basic engine operation, failure analysis and countermeasure.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. SAP experience preferred.
  • Experienced in the operation of various types of gasoline powered products and engines. Moderate mechanical comprehension desired
  • Ability to understand and apply forecasting techniques / tools for customer demand, understand end to end supply chain principles
  • This position requires extensive travel including travel planning and expense management. Future relocation is possible.
